"Never lie to the people you love. It's not worth it, and they don't deserve it. And you'll end up getting caught and get in trouble."
-Samantha Heggem
This week, I decided to give you one of
my own quotes. I got into some trouble last week, and faced the
consequences this weekend.
So lots of you know that the Raymore
Carnival was this past weekend, and I'm sure many of you went. Of those who did
go, you probably went with friends, or that special someone, right? I wish I
could say the same for myself, but I cant. I had the wonderful
experience of going to the carnival with my parents and little brother. I was
surrounded by couples and groups of friends
that went to my school. Think of the most humiliating thing that has
ever happened to you, and times it by like 30. it was absolutely
mortifying.
The night started off bad,
and ended bad. We weren't even there for 5 minutes, and I already
saw like 20 people I knew. I was not happy. At
all. But my Mom and Dad thought it was the funniest thing
ever. My Mom would look at my face and then just crack up because of my
expression.
My brother wanted to play games, and of course
the game he wanted to play was by a big group of people in my grade. They were
literally right behind us. And then, the stupid carny running the game
tells me I look like his sister, Berna's, twin! I was
like, excuse you? I could not believe that he said that! I was about
to seriously smack the guy! And I'm sure the group of people behind
me heard him. Talk about embarrassing! I was so ready to leave by that
point. I felt like everyone was staring at me, because I was with my
parents.
After we left the carnival, my Dad took us
to Sonic, and I got a tea. On our way home I dropped the dang thing and It spilt
all over the seat and me.
I was not a happy camper. I
was mad and frustrated with everyone, but I really needed to be mad at myself,
because I could have prevented any of this from happening.
I definitely learned my lesson. I never want to
have to experience that again. Ever in my life.
For those of
you that have never been grounded, my only advice for you is to keep it that
way. Being grounded or getting in trouble is not fun, in any way, what so ever.
Be good. Listen to your parents. Don't lie to them. It may seem like a good
idea at the time, but if you think to yourself, Would my parents be okay with me
doing this? and you have to hesitate before you answer, then don't do it!
It'll end up causing you more problems, and probably get you in
trouble, which will lead to consequences.
Don't be me. Don't
have your own version of my 'Raymore Carnival family fun'.
