"In the book of life, the answers aren't always in the back."
-Charlie Brown
In high school, we are constantly told, 'Make good grades, so you
can get into a good college.' And while this is definitely true, we also,
whether we realize it or not, learn quite a few life lessons during our high school
careers.
These lessons are not things that our parents lecture us on, or things that can be taught to us in class. The life lessons we experience in high school are often things we learn the hard way or witness through friendships we have.
High school does
get us prepared for collage and our careers, but it also teaches us lessons
that we'll need to know as we get older.
A couple of the most important
life lessons that I’ve learned so far are:
1. There are a lot of people that just aren't worth your tears.
There is never a way to avoid drama completely; it always seems to find its way back into your life. You just have to ask yourself, Will this matter in 5 years? If the answer is no, then don't sweat it. The situation will usually blow over pretty fast.
2. Always, always be careful with your words.
You can never be too careful with what comes out of your mouth. People seem to know how to twist your words around, and make what you said seem totally different. Always think before you speak.
Like the quote says,
you won’t always be able to check or copy your answers from the back of the book.
High school is a time in life we will reflect on for years to come. We need to make the most of it but pay attention to the lessons we learn along the way. Start paying attention to the small things around you. You will be amazed by the impact it can have on your life.
. In school, you're taught lessons, and then given tests.
In life, you're given tests that teach you lessons.
What is the biggest life lesson you have ever learned?
Why is it so important to you?
