My Mom's side of the family is very unique, because it is very large. My Moms Grandma and Grandpa had 7 kids, and each of their kids had at least 3. And then most of their kids have had at least 1 baby by now.
Two Sundays ago was my Great Grandma's 80th birthday and her birthday party. Family from all over the U.S. flew in and we had a big celebration for it. On Saturday, we threw her a party, with her and her husbands closest friends and the whole family.
Getting everyone together really meant a lot to her, and I know that the family knew that. Grandma is a big fan of the Chiefs, but had never been to a game, although she had wanted to for quite some time.
Towards the end of her party, when she was starting to open a couple gifts, one of her sons gave her a chiefs jersey. She was so excited about just the jersey, but she had no idea what was coming next.
He then pulled out two Chiefs tickets and said, "Mom, we're all going to the Chiefs game tomorrow."
The look on her face was absolutely priceless and will be remembered forever by our family.
On Sunday, the whole family met at my Grandmas house, and a party bus took us all to the game at 8 in the morning, so that we could tailgate. The Chiefs played the New York Giants tat day, and it was an amazing win, and an amazing day to be at the game. After the game, it was really hard to say goodbye to everyone. Especially since the majority of them don't live very close, and we rarely see them except for holidays. Spending time with them and being around such loving and caring and happy people made me realize just how much I love my family, and realize how much they support me, and each other. We are a very close knit family and support each other in everything we do. We belive in each other and help each other to the best of our abilities. I think its amazing that we were all able to get togeht er in one place at one time, and spend a whole weekend together. It was wonderful to see everyone reuniting and bonding. It reminded us that even though we all live so far away from each other doesn't mean we are not a family. Family is probably one of the only things that will be there for you throughout your whole life. They are your rock, your home, and will always love you, no matter the differences.
